Hi guys! This summer I went to New York and Costa Rica. It was an amazing trip! I’m also going to write about Costa Rica, but now it’s New York’s turn. I was in New York for five days. Before I start, I just want to say nothing is sponsored. I’m just telling you guys about my experiences. All photos are selfmade.
We arrived in the afternoon in New York. So this day We didn’t do a lot. Our hotel was 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. It’s an hotel in Brooklyn, DUMBO, near the Brooklyn Bridge. At the rooftop, you had a pool and a bar. The view was amazing, as you can see in the pictures below. In the end we were really tired, so I went to Shake Shack for some food.
The next day we went to Almondine Bakery to get some breakfast. This was really nice and after that we took a ferry to Governors Island. We hired a citi bike and cycled around here. It was a nice spot and definitely worth a visit. In the end you also have a hill, where you’ve got a few at Downtown Manhattan. After this, we took a ferry to Wall street and the financial district. We walked around a bit here and bought lunch at a supermarket. After this food we walked to The 9/11 Memorial. This was intense to see and very nicely done. From here we cycled to Chinatown and we walked through to Little Italy. Two very funny neighborhoods. in the evening we went to eat at Katz, a well known Delhi, with very tasty pastrami sandwiches.
In the morning we bought some breakfast at Peas&Pickles. After this we went to Battery park, where a ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island went from. We took a lot of ferries in New York, because it was really close to our hotel. Unfortunately, the waiting time was very long with the ferries. The museum on Ellis Island was really boring, but you just have to see it. It has too many information and not enough images and movies. This trip took the whole day. In the evening we had dinner at Cecconi’s. This is a really nice restaurant on the riverside. This day was the Eclipse. The air had a really weird and dark color and it was very special to see.
On Tuesday MoMA was on the planning. We cycled on the Manhattan Bridge and through First Avenue. In the beginning, we cycled through the wrong street. So the whole trip took one and a half hour. The MoMA was a really nice museum, with really interesting exhibitions. The shop was also very nice. I wanted to buy everything in the store. We had lunch in Central Park. I really liked this park, because of its location. It’s really in the middle of Manhattan. After this we went back to the hotel and ordered, really nice, roomservice.
The next day we went to the Flat Iron Building with the metro. It’s really worth it to visit, because of its special shape. From here we walked to the High Line. I found it really special to walk through New York a bit higher. The architecture of the High Line is also very nice. We walked to the Whitney Museum. They had a very special exhibition of Hélio Oiticica. It was all about feeling stuff. This day we also went to SoHo, a very cute neighborhood with a lot of cute stores. This evening we also had roomservice.
The last day we walked through Brooklyn Heights and we went shopping in Fulton Street. This wasn’t a very special day, because at 5 PM we were going home. These few days in New York were great and I really enjoyed it!
